Within the activities in 2016/2017 academic year and continuation of activities of the project line “Peace education/prevention and conflict management in primary schools”, a seminar for primary school teachers was organized at the hotel “Zepter” in Kozarska Dubica, on 27th - 28th of August. At the seminar that was led by the trainers of Nansen Dialogue centre ( NDC ) Prijedor participated multi-ethnic group of 22 teachers. Mentioned teachers are from seven primary schools from Prijedor, three schools from Sanski Most, and also one school from Oštra Luka and they previously participated in some of the NDC educations and implemented activities of NDC program in their schools during the regular classes. During this seminar, in cooperation with NDC trainers they learned about the continuation of the NDC program in the school year 2016/2017, they also exchanged their previous experiences with others and all together planned the activities for the 21st of September –The International Day of Peace, which will be celebrated in Prijedor and Sanski Most. The focus of the workshops that will be organized with students in the school year 2016/2017 is respect for diversity, and it is planned to, through interactive activities, among other issues, work on identity, prejudice, stereotypes, discrimination and prevention of peer violence. Given the importance of discussions on these issues, participants pointed out that knowledge they gained at the seminar will be very helpful in further work with students.
As a very important part of this seminar, participants also recognized exchange of information and experience with colleagues in neighboring / cross-entity municipalities / cities.
